Election Day would not be possible without election workers. Election workers are a vital link between the Elections Office and the voters that we serve. Election workers are on the front lines of democracy, processing voters, issuing ballots and maintaining voting equipment.
Qualifications
To be an election worker in Yuma County, you must be:
- 18 years of age or older (unless participating in the Student Election Worker Program)
- A U.S. Citizen
- Registered to vote in Yuma County
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend election worker training
- Assist with opening/closing the Vote Center
- Assist with processing voter throughout the day
- Serve up to 15 hours
Benefits of Serving as an Election Worker
- Play a critical role in the democratic process
- Earn $150 for election day
- Earn $50 for attending training class
- Earn $20 for attending Monday set-up
- Bilingual election workers who speak Spanish and are the designated bilingual for the voting location receives an additional $25
