When to Use

A residential building permit is required for single-family homes, duplex, and townhome projects.  Residential permits are needed for new homes and for remodels or additions on existing homes.  Examples of additions include garage/carport constructions or conversion, porch enclosures, demolition, patio cover, fence/wall, and other constructions projects.
