What's New...

 Yuma County is installing a storm drain system to alleviate flooding at several locations in the foothills. The contractor currently allocated three underground crews and one grading crew in order to work at multiple locations simultaneously.

 

ROAD CLOSURES:

Cassidy Avenue, South of 37th Street:

07/08/2019 through 07/19/2019: Contractor to complete storm drain installation, manholes and catch basins. Once complete, contractor will continue grading roadway for new pavement.

Detour will be directed through 37th Street.

  

Mona Avenue, North of 37th Street:

07/08/2019 through 07/19/2019: Contractor to complete manhole and catch basins along Mona Avenue. Grading roadway for pavement will commence right after. Pavement replacement will include full roadway width.

Detour will be via 37th Street.

 

Sandra Avenue, South of 37th Street:

07/08/2019 through 07/19/2019: Contractor to continue storm drain installation along Sandra Avenue, south of 37th Street. Once storm drain is completed, contractor will continue with grading roadway for pavement. Work is expected to be completed by 7/26/2019.

Detour will be through 37th Street.

 

38th Street and Cassidy  Avenue:

07/08/2019 through 07/19/2019: Contractor will install new manhole at intersection and will proceed to install catch basin at the southeast corner of the intersection.

Road will be closed to through traffic. Detour will be through 37th Street and Hunter Avenue.

Traffic control will be in place to detour traffic around road closures. Motorist can expect delays and drivers are urged to pay close attention to work zone signs.

 

General Description

The work is located in the Foothills, between Foothills Blvd. and Avenue 12E, South of S. Frontage Rd. 

Work to be performed includes, but is not limited to: Removal and replacement of approximately 24,000 square yards of pavement, installation of approximately 20,310 linear feet of new storm drain, 57 manholes and 102 catch basins.
