The Judicial Assistance Unit (JAU) is a centralized collections department of the Superior Court in Yuma County. The JAU assists the following courts with monetary court order compliance:

The Superior Court in Yuma County Clerk’s Office (S1400)

Yuma Justice Court (J1401)

South County Justice Court (J1402)

Wellton Justice Court. (J1403)

 

JAU PUBLIC SERVICES: 

  • Processes fee deferral and waiver applications.
  • Provides customer service to support the compliance of monetary court orders.
  • Accepts monthly payments in person and by mail.
  • Processes state tax refund interceptions. 

The JAU is located on the 2nd floor of the Yuma County Justice Center.

PAYMENT CONTRACTS

The courts direct customers to set up a monthly payment plan with JAU. Monthly payment amounts and payment due dates are provided in a contract. JAU Payment Contracts

A printed receipt will be provided for every payment made in person. Receipts provided by the court are proof of payment.

Make checks payable to: Clerk of the Superior Court

Include the case number. Case numbers begin with S1400.

SUPERIOR COURT CLERK’S OFFICE PERSONAL CHECK POLICY

Personal checks are NOT accepted on cases with restitution.

Out-of-state checks are NOT accepted.

The check MUST have a pre-printed name, address, and phone number.

Two (2) forms of picture identification are required.

DISHONORED PAYMENT POLICY

There is a $25.00 assessment fee for all dishonored checks.

PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED ON CASES WITH RESTITUTION.

 The check MUST have a pre-printed name and address.

 You must provide the court with a phone number and mailing address.

 Personal checks must be drawn from a bank in the United States.

 DISHONORED PAYMENT POLICY

 There is a $25.00 assessment fee for all dishonored checks.
