The Yuma County Grants Division serves as a centralized resource to help departments secure and manage funding that supports essential programs and services. We identify grant opportunities, develop applications, and guide projects through implementation, compliance, and reporting.
We work across departments to align funding with Yuma County priorities and ensure projects stay on track and deliver results. This page highlights recent projects and current funding efforts that support and strengthen our community.
Active Grant Projects:
East Main Canal Multi-Use Pathway:
Summary: The East Main Canal Multi-Use Pathway will extend the City of Yuma’s existing pathway from County 12th Street to County 14th Street, closing a key gap in the region’s active transportation network. By replacing an unpaved, uneven dirt route with a paved, ADA-accessible path with lighting, signage, and amenities, the project will provide a safer, more reliable corridor for pedestrians and cyclists. This improvement will tie into the Yuma County Bikeways Master Plan, enhancing connectivity, reducing reliance on hazardous routes, and supporting a larger vision to link Yuma to surrounding communities, including the City of Somerton and the City of San Luis.

Ferguson Lateral Multi-Use Pathway:
Summary: The Yuma County Ferguson Lateral Canal: West Main Canal to 5th Street Multi-Use Pathway will construct a 0.65-mile paved trail along the canal, giving residents a safe place to walk and bike. In the Avenue B & C Colonia area, residents travel along narrow roads or uneven dirt paths next to fast-moving traffic. This project creates a separate route with lighting and ADA access to make daily travel safer and more reliable. It is intended to reduce safety risks, improve access for residents, and provide a practical option for getting around the community.
