Our Mission
Our mission is to locate, identify and appraise all property that is subject to ad-valorem taxation, at current market value or at the level established by law, classify all property by Assessment category and process exemptions established by law.
About Us
The Yuma County Assessor’s Office employs 33 full time employees and is responsible for annually assessing 88,000 real property parcels, 16,500 mobile home accounts, and 5,800 commercial personal property accounts. The office is divided into sections that specialize in appraising the various property types and administering the office.
Administration Section
Responsible for processing exemption and valuation protection option applications, sales affidavit indexing and scanning, tax roll correction resolutions.
Residential Section
Lists and appraises all residential and simple commercial property in the urban areas including condominiums, manufactured homes, site built homes.
Commercial Section
Lists and appraises all complex commercial property with the exception of utilities, mines, railroads, and telecommunication companies. Responsible for auditing personal property renditions from businesses.
Agricultural/Rural Property Section
Lists and appraises all agricultural property and all property uses in the rural areas of the county including vacant land. Responsible for auditing personal property renditions from agricultural operations.
Equalization Section
Responsible for analyzing sales data and conducting review appraisals of areas in the county that are in need of market adjustment or physical review.
Title Record Section
Responsible for reviewing all deeds and other documents that transfer title to both real property and mobile homes.
