The Primary Election is taking place today, July 21. Voting centers are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for those voting in person. Voters still holding onto early ballots can drop them off at one of the election day voting locations across Yuma County.

Results and verification

Several steps will take place as part of the vote tabulation process. Here's what residents can expect in the coming days.

Tuesday, July 21 – Election Day

• At approximately 8 p.m., depending on Vote Center closure times, the first set of results will include all tabulated early ballots and in-person votes received prior to Election Day. Updated results from Vote Centers will be updated throughout the evening.
• Late early ballots (early ballots dropped off at vote centers on Election Day) and provisional ballots will be audited at the closing of each voting location, transported to election headquarters, and transferred to Yuma County Recorder Voter Services staff for processing.
• The estimated number of ballots left for processing will be reported with the final release of the Election Day results.

Wednesday, July 22 – Post Election Day

• Yuma County Recorder Voter Services will audit voters from Election Day electronic poll books and late early ballot submissions.
• Yuma County Recorder Voter Services will begin processing late early and provisional ballots received from all vote centers.
• Yuma County Recorder Voter Services will transfer to Election Services the verified ballots received in the mail on Election Day.

Saturday, July 25

• Hand count will begin at 9 a.m. The purpose of the hand count audit is to compare the results of the electronic count to the limited hand count audit to ensure that the machines are working properly and accurately counting the votes.

Sunday, July 26 at 5 p.m.

• Last day for identification verification for provisional ballots and signature curing of early ballot affidavit signatures.

Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30

• Results will be posted (as completed).

Wednesday, July 29

• Post-election logic and accuracy test.

Monday, Aug. 3

• Election results will be canvassed during the Yuma County Board of Supervisors meeting that begins at 9 a.m.

Resultados y verificación

Como parte del proceso de tabulación de votos, se llevarán a cabo varios pasos. Esto es lo que los residentes pueden esperar en los próximos días.

Martes, 21 de julio – Día de la Elección

• Aproximadamente a las 8 p.m., dependiendo de la hora de cierre de los centros de votación, se publicará el primer conjunto de resultados, que incluirá todas las boletas de voto anticipado ya tabuladas y los votos emitidos en persona recibidos antes del Día de la Elección. Los resultados de los centros de votación se actualizarán durante toda la noche.
• Las boletas de voto anticipado entregadas el Día de la Elección (boletas anticipadas depositadas en los centros de votación ese mismo día) y las boletas provisionales serán auditadas al cierre de cada centro de votación, trasladadas a la sede electoral y entregadas al personal de Servicios para Votantes de la Oficina del Registrador del Condado de Yuma para su procesamiento.
• El número estimado de boletas pendientes de procesamiento se informará junto con la publicación final de los resultados del Día de la Elección.

Miércoles, 22 de julio – Después del Día de la Elección

• El personal de Servicios para Votantes de la Oficina del Registrador del Condado de Yuma auditará los registros de los votantes del Día de la Elección mediante los libros electrónicos de votación y las boletas de voto anticipado entregadas ese día.
• Se comenzará a procesar las boletas de voto anticipado entregadas el Día de la Elección y las boletas provisionales recibidas de todos los centros de votación.
• Se transferirán a Servicios Electorales las boletas verificadas recibidas por correo el Día de la Elección.

Sábado, 25 de julio

• El conteo manual comenzará a las 9 a.m. El propósito de esta auditoría es comparar los resultados del conteo electrónico con una muestra del conteo manual para garantizar que las máquinas funcionen correctamente y contabilicen los votos con precisión.

Domingo, 26 de julio, a las 5 p.m.

• Último día para verificar la identificación de las boletas provisionales y para corregir las firmas en las declaraciones juradas de las boletas de voto anticipado.

Lunes, 27 de julio al jueves, 30 de julio

• Los resultados se publicarán conforme se vayan completando.

Miércoles, 29 de julio

• Se realizará la prueba de lógica y precisión posterior a la elección.

Lunes, 3 de agosto

• Los resultados de la elección serán certificados durante la reunión de la Junta de Supervisores del Condado de Yuma, que comenzará a las 9 a.m.
