Dave Nash Appointed as Yuma County Administrative Director of Communications

Yuma County, AZ — Yuma County is proud to announce the appointment of Dave Nash as the new Administrative Director of Communications, effective August 2025. In his new role, Nash will oversee the County’s public relations efforts, working to enhance its communication strategies and foster strong relationships with media, local agencies, and the community.

Nash brings more than 18 years of experience in public relations, media relations, and public communications. Most recently, he served as the Public Affairs Coordinator for the City of Yuma, where he served to inform residents about public services through news coverage, media relations, in-house social media, TV and radio programs, and strategic public outreach.

A Yuma resident for more than 28 years, Nash also has significant experience in the local media industry, having spent more than a decade as an on-air personality at El Dorado Broadcasters. In addition, he worked as a content editor and writer with the Yuma Sun, where he earned awards for writing, editing and creative direction.

“I’m honored and excited to join the great organization at Yuma County and its excellent, well-seasoned Communications team,” Nash said. “The more people I meet who work in local government, the more I’m in awe of the dedication those people have to serving the community they live in. I look forward to telling their stories.”

In his new position, Nash will be responsible for managing Yuma County's public relations, developing communication policies, and informing residents of County services and opportunities in a manner that maintains the County’s public image.
