YuCount Newsletter APRIL 2020

2020 APRIL YUCOUNT NEWSLETTER

Post Date:04/03/2020 2:45 PM
*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Greetings!
I know that everyone is inundated right now with COVID-19 information, and a lot of misinformation as well. My suggestion is to only look at and believe reliable sources of information, which include the Yuma County website COVID-19 page, Arizona Department of Health Services (ADOHS website and Center for Disease Control (CDC) website.

Please restrict your exposure to social media and news channels that provide a 24/7 barrage of repetitive and unverified stories, rumors and misinformation. These do not help; they just increase our stress levels. You need a break from these outlets so you can build and maintain a positive and realistic frame of mind. Try not to worry about things you have no control over. Concentrate on those things you can control and do something about. You control your thoughts, feelings, words, choices and actions. Choose positive and productive ones.

The COVID-19 pandemic is increasing its effects on the Yuma County community. We will see more cases and more hospitalizations. No one knows when the pandemic will end, but it will end. We will get through this together.

Even though the news seems to be "all COVID, all the time" there are good things happening around the world and here at home. We just aren't talking about them. Every day people get married, have anniversaries and birthdays, children are born, and life goes on. Please take the time to reflect on the good things in your own life and to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.

We can, and should, be a part of the fight against COVID-19 by practicing “common sense” in taking care of ourselves and our loved ones. Most importantly: follow the CDC guidelines and the messages we have shared about frequent handwashing, sanitizing surfaces, not touching your face and keeping your distance from others (6 feet). Whether you are at work or at home, follow these rules. You may literally save someone's life by your actions.

On another very important note, please COMPLETE THE CENSUS online for your household. It takes less than 10 minutes and will impact our community for the better for the next 10 years!  Go to www.my2020census.gov to get started.

Yuma County cares about you and wants you to be safe and healthy, so you can proudly serve our community. Thank you for being here and for bringing your talents to our organization.

PASSIVE OPEN AND WELLNESS INCENTIVE EXTENSION
Yuma County’s Annual Open Enrollment will begin Tuesday, April 14, 2020 through Thursday, May 14, 2020.  Human Resources Benefits wants to make this open enrollment simple and stress free for you and your dependents.

Our 2020-2021 Plan Year Open Enrollment is a “Passive” Open Enrollment.

What is a passive open enrollment?

A passive open enrollment allows an employee to simply carry over their previous year elections to the new plan without having to verify, change or update their benefit elections.  There is one exception to the passive enrollment. IRS guidelines require an active election each plan year if you participate in one or all of the following accounts: Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) and/or Health Savings Account (HSA).  Human Resources Benefits will send a separate email to current members to inform them to make their plan year deductions for July 1, 2020 through June 30,2021.

Please keep in mind, if you would like to add or remove dependents from your medical, dental, and vision plans, increase your supplemental, spouse and dependent life insurance or change plan options, you will need to login to https://yumacountyaz.hrintouch.com.

WELLNESS INCENTIVE EXTENSION

We do understand that many medical providers are postponing or not scheduling routine preventive visits.  Therefore, the Wellness Incentive has been extended to July 31, 2020. The Wellness Incentive includes a routine preventive well-exam and the BCBS Health Risk Assessment (HRA) which can be found on www.azblue.com .

Many of our employees have met the Wellness Incentive for Plan Year 2020-2021.  An email communication was sent from the Benefits Division informing you that you had met the Wellness Incentive requirement.

We will be sending email communication to notify members who have completed one of the incentive requirements and what is pending.
