Ballot Cam activated for upcoming General Election
Anyone with an Internet connection is now able to view the election process live during the upcoming General Election to be held on November 6, 2018. Yuma County is now streaming a live video feed of the ballot counting center at the Yuma County Elections Department.
The counting center has begun receiving Early Ballots for processing. County Elections Officers activated the webcam and link inside the counting center this morning. It’s viewable through a link located on the Yuma County website. NOTE: BALLOT CAM is ONLY active during an election cycle.
An Arizona statute, passed in 2008, requires counties to provide a live video feed of the custody of ballots located in the counting center. According to the statute, 16-621 C., recordings from within all counting centers shall be retained as a public record.
