Statewide County Supervisors to arrive next week County hosting annual summit, Governor’s visit
Arizona’s voice for counties, the County Supervisors Association (CSA), will hold its Annual Legislative Summit at the Hilton Garden Inn Pivot Point Yuma on October 3-5, 2018, in Yuma County, Arizona. Governor Doug Ducey will be a guest speaker during the Summit luncheon Thursday, October 4.
"I am thrilled Yuma County will host these important annual meetings. Over 100 elected officials and professional staff from counties throughout the state will get to enjoy Yuma County’s hospitality as we plot the course for Arizona counties for the next legislative session,” said Craig Sullivan, CSA executive director.
He added, "We’re pleased to showcase Yuma County and we look forward to utilizing the excellent venue and showing off the community to people from across the state."
Each year Supervisors from across the State gather in one location for the annual CSA summit. Over the 3-day period these elected officials work to formulate a plan for the next Arizona State Legislative Session. While each county has their own priorities, the summit allows a forum for important policy discussions. The county supervisors will consider all legislative proposals brought forward by all 15 counties and prioritize collective county needs and changes that would provide improved services across the state.“I cannot emphasize strongly enough how important these 3 days are to Arizona counties,” said Susan Thorpe, Yuma County Administrator. “The voice of counties needs to be heard loud and clear. The summit allows all counties to gather and develop that message for the next year, and beyond.”
