Court Leave
is not deducted from employee's leave bank. (If a check from the court is received, employee must turn over to Yuma County) Jury Duty or Witness of the Court Duty shall be granted leave with pay.

Bereavement Leave
is not deducted from employee's leave bank. For use in the death of an immediate family member, five (5) consecutive working days (40 working hours) is granted.

Health Insurance

YUMA County Employee Benefit Trust Health Plan (YCEBT):
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan. The employee is able to select from one of three medical plan options that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.

(YCEBT) Health Insurance Schedule of Prescription Drug Benefits: Prescriptions under the PPO Plan have a co-payment per prescription, and employees must pay dependant coverage - varying premiums and coverage.  It has a three tier schedule of benefits, and a Mail in prescription program is also available that provide a 90-day supply. SSA Mexico (Southwest Service Administrators): is available to employees who are enrolled in one of the three medical plan options: Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $2,500 per person per calendar year ($5,000 for two or more family members). There is no deductible, no co-insurance, and no out-of-pocket costs. Visit the SSA page

Employee Assistance Program (EAP):
Your Employer Sponsored Benefit, EAP provides confidential assistance for a variety of problems, and as a prevention for any problems you may be experiencing in life or at work for both you and your family -  24 Hours a Day - 365 Days a Year.
Employee and eligible family members can receive counseling sessions, attend Webinars and Skillbuilder on-line training programs, or "Ask the Expert" a financial question (Referral for including legal counseling is also available).  There is no cost to the Employee, for confidential information and assistance call 1-800-843-1327 or go to Horizon Health Care (EAP) Web site

Life Insurance

Our group life insurance premiums are administered by Hartford Life Insurance Company.  An Estate Guidance Service, Travel Assist Benefit and Bereavement Counseling is also included in the coverage at no additional cost. (800) 523-2233 or visit their web site at www.thehartford.com

Basic Life Insurance/Accidental Death & Dismemberment:
Basic Life Insurance premium is one times the annual salary (maximum of $50,000) for each Employee, and paid for by YUMA County.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) is one time the annual salary (maximum of $50,000) for each employee, and paid by YUMA County.

Employees are eligible to apply for Supplemental Group Life Insurance - Paid by Employee

Supplemental Group Life Insurance for self is purchased in $10,000 increments (not to exceed 5 times the annual salary) up to $250,000. A guaranteed issue of $100,000 can be elected without filling out a (PHA) Personal Health Application approval form for all new hires.

Spouse coverage is $5,000 up to $20,000 w/out approval or up to $50,000 w/approval for Spouse, but not to exceed over half of Employee's Life Insurance.

Dependent coverage insures your children for $2,500 at 50 cents per month.
